Did you know? Flowers are incorporated into the wedding ceremony as a symbol of fertility. The first bouquets consisted of herbs and, later, orange blossoms.
One way to save money on your wedding while making it unique and more meaningful is to do the flowers yourself. For $50 you can pick up to 240 stems of any flowers in our gardens except for sunflowers. Sunflowers are $2.00 each.
Sometimes brides come with members of their wedding party to pick flowers the day before then gather to create bouquets and arrangements.
One mother of the bride used the flowers to make bouquets to put in the hotel rooms of out of town guests. She left a note telling them about Granny’s Garden School and invited them to tour the gardens in their free time before the wedding. Some brides combine flowers from Granny’s with those from a florist.
