We are excited to have you volunteering with Granny’s Garden School!
We have a lot of fun, but we are here to work and expect the same professional attitude from our volunteers as we do our staff. We work outside, get dirty and do physical labor. If this does not fit your style, please consider one of the many other volunteer opportunities that are less demanding than ours.
You will be working at Granny’s Stewart Elementary Garden site. If coming from UC, it takes about 30 minutes. The address is 11850 Conrey Road, 45149. You will be working with Joe Clear (513-919-5741) If no response, call 513-324-2873
Check the weather and your email before leaving for the gardens in the morning. If in doubt, call 513-919-5741.
How to dress:
Dress in layers. If it’s around freezing put on two layers of everything. A single layer of jeans, socks, sweatshirt will not keep you warm enough. No flip-flops or sandels, please.
We provide lunch for volunteers that are here for the entire time (9 a.m. to 3 p.).
What kind of work will we be doing?
What we do on a given day depends on the season and what is going on in the gardens at a particular time. Most common: hauling and laying down wood chips/compost, trenching between grass and flower gardens, weeding, planting, cutting back brush, painting.
