Chile offers funding to startup companies who wish to start their journey in the South American nation. The program incentivizes businesses with up to US$80,000 in funding and a work visa for a year.

With the scheme Enterprise Ireland, the Emerald Isle offers to pay entrepreneurs and small businesses who wish to start companies in their country. You don't have to be Irish to apply, but you do need to have your company registered in Ireland.

Also, with its Our Living Islands scheme, the Irish government is hoping to populate and strengthen its 30 remote islands for an economic boost. To be eligible for the US$87,600 grant, applicants must purchase a house that was built before 1993, but has remained vacant for two years or more.

The town of Kaitangata offers aspiring entrepreneurs around US$165,000 and free housing. Mostly it's because of skill shortage and a population crisis, as the town has a population of only 800.

The Portuguese government is paying people to work in the inland regions of the country through its Emprego Interior MAIS scheme, which pays in grants up to US$5,240. The grants are also applicable to foreign citizens.

Japan's government offers a program called the Regional Revitalization Program, which provides funding and support to people who want to move to rural areas of the country.

The village of Ponga in Asturias offers young couples US$3,256 for moving there, and an extra $3,256 for every child born or moved there with the couple.
