Bacon is so terribly bad for you. It is especially bad for your heart. More than half of the calories in bacon come from saturated fats, something that is known to cause heart problems.

Red meats such as beef, pork, and lamb, may raise your cholesterol levels. It is also higher in saturated fats than white meats. There have been hundreds of studies that link diets that are high in red meat to heart problems.

While we are talking about meat, we want to point out that processed, deli-style meat is definitely bad for your heart health. Lunch meats have extremely high amounts of salt, and, as we mentioned before, sodium causes heart issues.

Rice turns white when the bran and germ part of the grain are stripped and discarded. Unfortunately, the bran and germ part of the rice grain are the only healthy pieces! When you remove them, all that is left is pure carbs.

It is a sad fact that eating a lot of pizza is not good for your heart. Most pizza has lots of sodium, fat, and calories, all of which can increase your risk of heart attack.

There is nothing quite as tasty as a big piece of deep-fried chicken! But your heart will not agree that eating fried foods is a good idea. Fried foods are literally soaked in fat, which you then eat. Imagine drinking several tablespoons of oil next time you bite into that fried chicken.

Heavy drinking is going to increase your blood pressure. If you keep on drinking, you may suffer from heart failure, stroke, and weight gain. Alcohol is a big no-no if you are trying to enjoy a heart-healthy diet.
