Houseplants you should NEVER keep in direct sunlight

Peace lilies are excellent houseplants that can grow in both direct and indirect light. And although they do flower under bright light, it is best to not keep them under direct sunlight as it has delicate leaves that scorch easily.

Snake plant is hardy and versatile, but it is best to not keep it in direct sun for too long. It is the perfect houseplant that continues to grow even in artificial light, and keeping it under bright sunlight will result in the leaves to start fading in colour.

The beautiful vines of Pothos should also not be kept in full sun for too long. One of the best houseplants, Pothos leaves are soft and delicate and when kept in bright, direct sun they will either scorch or start turning yellow.

Pholdendrons, with their dark, patterned leaves, are a complete beauty when it comes to indoor plants. But, keeping them in direct sunlight for long hours can result in blackening of leaves which will result in yellow or dark patches.

Calatheas are another set of beautiful houseplants that have patterns in not just the vines but also of colour. And keeping them in bright sunlight can fade or burn their leaves.

Most fern houseplants have delicate, small leaves that dry out pretty quickly. And when the Boston fern will be kept in direct sun instead of shade, it will dry out quickly, lead to damage of the leaves, and the green leaves will turn yellow really quick.

The Dieffenbachia is also a dual-coloured plant with a beautiful white center and dark green outer shade. But, when these plants are kept in direct sunlight every day, even for just 2-3 hours
