Master The Art Of Making Gulab Jamun With This 4-Step Recipe

Ingredients 1 cup dry milk powder 2 tbsp all-purpose flour 1 tbsp semolina (sooji) 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup warm milk 2 tbsp ghee or unsalted butter Oil for frying

For Sugar Syrup: 2 cups sugar 1 cup water 4-5 cardamom pods A few saffron strands (optional)

Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, combine dry milk powder, all-purpose flour, semolina, and baking soda. Add warm milk gradually and knead to form a soft dough. Add ghee or butter for added richness and knead again. Rest the dough for 15-20 minutes.

Form Gulab Jamun Balls: Divide the dough into small equal portions and shape them into smooth, round balls. Ensure there are no cracks, as this prevents them from breaking during frying.

Fry the Gulab Jamun: Heat oil in a deep pan on medium heat. Fry the balls gently until golden brown, turning them gently to ensure even cooking.

Prepare the Syrup: In a separate pan, combine sugar, water, cardamom pods, and saffron. Boil until the syrup reaches a sticky consistency. Soak fried gulab jamuns in warm syrup for at least 1 hour.

Enjoy your homemade, soft, and sweet gulab jamun!
